Domitila is a married woman who has three children, all of whom attend school. She rents a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
She has operated a vegetable selling business for the past eight years, selling potatoes, green vegetables and fruits to her neighbours and passersby. Domitila faces a challenge of competition from other vegetable stall operators. She hopes to expand her business in the future.
She decided to join Yehu to access loans. With the KES 40,000 loan, she wants to purchase tomatoes, fruits and sukuma wiki(green vegetables).
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
