Maria Veronica
María is 35 years old and has a dressmaking and sewing workshop in Perimetral de Guayaquil (a peri-urban area surrounded by a salt marsh).

Since she was a young girl she has been selling cosmetics but as it wasn't a steady job she decided to stop and set up a dressmaking workshop which is something she always wanted. She bought some materials which she needed and with a machine she had she began to work on her first clothing orders. She currently has people who help her in the dressmaking business, working from very early in the morning making blouses, pants and suits.

With her loan María would like to purchase material and accessories for her business. In the future, she would like to build a workshop out the back of her house because she is not very safe right now as she doesn't have an enclosure around her house.
