Alice, 46, lives in Fort Portal, Uganda. She is a businesswoman, married with seven children. Her family is comprised of 14 people and they own a family house. Her major dreams for the family are education for the children and also improving household income.
Alice operates a retail shop and has been in the business for five years now. She says fluctuation of prices affects her business operations due to interference with planned purchases and selling prices of commodities. Alice says she wants to see her retail shop transformed into a wholesale one in the near future. Alice intends to use the loan proceeds to pay school fees for the children.
