A loan of $600 helped to buy silk thread.

Roxana Del Carmen's story

Roxana is 23 years old and makes hammocks for a living. She lives with her husband, 5-year old son, mother and sister in a house in Delicias de Concepción, a district of Morazán. The whole family works in this trade and have been making and selling hammocks for 5 years. Her sister also takes the hammocks to display and sell at the market in San Miguel. This is Roxana's second loan request, and her business has grown well so she continues to boost it with the help of loans. On this occasion she needs it to buy silk thread, as this is the primary material needed for hammock-making.
Her dream is to expand the business, increase her profits and be able to save to build her own house.
