Doem S. is 47 years of age and married. In order to meet her family's needs, Doem S. sells a little grocery inventory in Phnom Penh. She has twenty years' experience in this sector and earns approximately $3 per day. To help contribute to her family, her husband works as a chief of construction workers in the city.
The couple have been married for years and have six children– four of whom are single. Doem S. says that one of her children is to get married soon, but her savings are insufficient to prepare for the wedding. To solve this problem, Doem S. has requested a loan of $800 to be used to prepare for her child's wedding.

The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
