This Lebanese Kiva borrower is a 38-year-old married man and the father of two children. He is the main income provider for his family. He has been running his own farm since 2006 and he also sells seeds and fertilizers. This man uses plastic tents to grow his crops. These tents allow him to better monitor product quality as well as grow his crops for more months during the year. He works independently in his business.
Today, he is requesting a loan of $1,200 from the Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase needed supplies and additional tents for his agricultural work. He estimates that the loan will help increase his profits by fifteen percent.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
