Martin R. S. is 37 years old. He lives with his partner and their three children in a rented home in La Victoria, one of the poorer neighborhoods of city of Chiclayo. His home has basic services, but the streets nearby remain unpaved, a situation he would like to see improved.
The family participates in a number of income generating activities. Martin´s partner manages a small general store out of the their home, in which she sells basic household items such as soap, dry foods and beverages. They own a mototaxi, which Martin drives on a daily basis in and around the city, transporting people to work, school and stores as needed. Further, Martin has a small plot of land just outside of La Victoria on which he raises crops. This land is in Campiña Chacupe Bajo, Martin’s childhood home.
This will be Martin’s second credit with our institution. Martin is requesting the loan in order to purchase additional merchandise at bulk prices to expand the selection of the general store. He hopes that this will solidify the customer base and increase profits.
Martin and his family are well respected in the community. They are hard-working and dedicated to improving the lives of their children.
