With enthusiasm and the support of a few neighbors they formed a group to request a loan. The communal bank is called “Chipotrer” and it has six women members who are engaged in a variety of activities among which we can mention: raising animals, crafts, shirt and blouse making, raising domestic animals.

The loan will be used to buy animals to raise thus increasing sales. One of the difficulties of being the business owner has been the lack of capital but, with help from her children and from the Asdir loan she is asking for, she hopes her business will be bigger and more productive.

O.,es madre soltera, ha cursado el Cuarto grado primaria, tiene 2 hijos los cuales siguen a su cargo, ella se dedica al agropecuario crianza de animales, tiene 15 años ya con este negocio. Contando con entusiasmo y la ayuda de algunas vecinas organizan un grupo, para poder solicitar un préstamo. El Grupo Solidario se denomina Chipotrer, el grupo cuenta con Seis integrantes mujeres, quienes se dedican a diversas actividades entre ellos podemos mencionar, la crianza de animales, Artesanía elaboración de playeras Camisas y blusas, y crianza de animales domesticas, El préstamo ella lo utilizará para compra de animales para la crianza de estos animales y así incrementar el volumen de ventas. Una de las dificultades de ser la dueña del negocio ha sido la falta del capital, pero ha salido adelante con la ayuda de sus hijos y espera que su negocio sea más grande y productivo. About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
