Juan David
Mr. Juan David B. C. is 49 and he lives in the Cochabamba department, in an area of the Quillacollo province called Mallco Rancho – Sipe Sipe.
Even though Juan David’s economic condition did not grant him the opportunity to have an education, he keeps on being optimistic and hopes to improve himself in the future.
He engages in agriculture, which is also his main activity: he says that a key factor to guarantee prosperity to his activity is the supply of irrigation water, that is normally provided by rain. However, during the past two years his production has been low because of the lack of water to irrigate his plants, something that is a major concern for all the members of the community.
He aims to change this situation, and he needs to assure himself of water supply as he wants to increase his food plantation.
The reason why he has asked for a loan is to become a shareholder of a well: this will permit him to irrigate his plants and thus improve his economy. By joining the well, many of his neighbors and he himself will become shareholders of a community well, and this will give them all the chance to provide themselves with water in a safe way.
