The Kiva borrower is a 46-year-old married woman living with her husband in Lebanon. She has owned a poultry shop in her town since 2008. With her business income, she helps her husband who works as a driver with the family expenses. She is thankful for her decision to establish her own business and she feels independent and supportive. Her shop is well known in the region because she always offers a good quality of chicken to her customers.
Today, she is requesting to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to increase her purchases, her sales and her income. In the future, she is planning to continue expansion of her business, enlarge her shop and start presenting chicken sandwiches for sale.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
