The Kiva borrower is a 34-year-old married woman and mother of 4 school-age children. She has been running a clothing and shoes store for the past eight years. She only sells women's and children's clothes. Her business income is very vital for her family because she helps her husband with the household in addition to paying school fees. She is requesting a $1200 loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to expand her store’s inventory. This will be her second loan and it will help her diversify her merchandise selection. In the future, she is hoping to also sell men's clothing and shoes from her store.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
