Mrs. Silvia G. is a member of the San Vicente community bank. Silvia embroiders skirts (traditional dress) for a living. She has worked at this business for eleven years, and it was her aunt who taught her this art. She also raises guinea pigs, chickens and sheep, which she sells in her town. And, she grows her own vegetables for her family's use, but sells the surplus in town.

Sylvia is a founding member of the community bank, and has been an active member for several years. This new loan is going to be used to purchase chickens and chicken feed. Her goal is to give her children the best possible education so they can go far in life.

La Señora Silvia G. es socia del banco comunal San Vicente, vive en la comunidad de San Pedro que pertenece a la parroquia de la Victoria del Portete, en donde la mayor parte de su población se dedican a la ganadería y agricultura, mucha de su población ha salido a la ciudad a trabajar en varias actividades como también han migrado en busca de un mejor trabajo.

Nuestra socia tiene 33 años, es casada y tiene 4 hijos de 13, 11, 3 años y un bebe de 11 meses de edad, sus dos primeros hijos estudian en la escuela de la comunidad. Su esposo es profesional en la rama de la construcción en donde labora como albañil ya varios años, con la experiencia de su esposo en la construcción y el trabajo en conjunto han logrado construir su casa propia.

La Señora Silvia se dedica al bordado de polleras (vestimenta tradicional), se ha iniciado en esta actividad desde los once años hasta el día de hoy y ha sido su tía quien le ha enseñado este arte. También se dedica a la cría de cuyes, gallinas y borregos a los cuales los vende en su propia comunidad, cultiva hortalizas para el consumo de su hogar y el sobrante lo vende en su comunidad o en la ciudad.

Doña Silvia es socia fundadora del banco comunal en el cual es integrante activa hace varios años, su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de pollos y en su alimento.

Su meta es entregarles a sus hijos los mejores estudios para que lleguen lejos en la vida.
