The six women of the JIGUISSEME group are married and are, on average, 33 years old with 3 children. Most of them live in polygamous families in HAMDALLAYE, one of the districts of the city of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of Mali). They have had eight loans with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution and all preceding loans have been repaid. This group of women is active in the retail commerce of various items, such as the vegetables sold by MARIAM S., pagnes (a colorful West African cloth), smoked fish etc. MARIAM S. plans to buy a considerable quantity of different types of vegetables with her loan. She gets her stock primarily from producers in neighboring villages and sells them for retail prices, on credit or in cash, to a clientele composed of women and men. She hopes to make a monthly profit of 75,000 CFA which will be used for her family's daily expenses.

Les six femmes du groupe JIGUISSEME sont mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 33 ans et ont en moyenne 3 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles polygames à HAMDALLAYE un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur huitième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso et tous les prêts précédents ont été bien remboursés.
Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce d’articles divers en générale, tel la vente de légumes avec MARIAM S., la vente de pagnes, de poisson fumé etc.
MARIAM S. compte acheter avec son prêt une quantité importante de légumes de différentes sortes. Elle s’approvisionne essentiellement dans les villages voisins, auprès des producteurs et effectue sa vente en détail, au comptant et à crédit, à une clientèle constituée de femmes et d’hommes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 75 000 FCFA qui sera utilisé dans les dépenses quotidienne de la famille.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
