These four married women are members of the Soro Yiriwa group and are on average 43 years old with 4 children. The are mostly from monogamous families and live in Medine, one of the neighbourhoods of Sikasso. (Third administrative region of Mali). This will be their seventh business loan with the Soro Yiriwasso microfinance institution.

This group of women buy and sell fruits and vegetables, pagnes wax (wax dyed decorative cloth) and various other women's articles. Mariam S. plans to buy 50 pieces of pagnes wax. She buys supplies from the major market in Bamako and sells her products in the large market is Sikasso in both bulk or as individual items, for cash or credit to a clientele made up of both men and women.

She plans to earn a monthly profit of 75,000 Francs CFA and a part will be used to help support her husband meet the daily expenses and part to be reinvested back into her business.

Les quatre membres du groupe SORO YIRIWA sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 43 ans et ont en moyenne 4 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles monogames à MEDINE un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur septième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso.
Ce groupe de femmes fait l’achat vente de fruits et légumes, de pagnes wax avec Mariam S. et divers autres articles pour femmes .
MARIAM S. compte acheter avec son prêt 50 pagnes wax. Elle s’approvisionne au grand marché de Bamako et effectue sa vente au grand marché de Sikasso et en famille, en détail, au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 75.000 FCFA dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’appui de son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
