Km 7 Monday Group
In this Group: Nancy , Tomasa, María, Laura, María, Primitiva, Selva, Epifania, Norma, Rosa, Carmen, Julia, Liz, Rogelia, Baudelia, Diana, Presentación
Liz Muller lives in the ‘Kilometer 7 Monday’ neighborhood and started the group by contacting her neighbors and friends. The group name is also ‘Kilometer 7 Monday’ and this is their seventh loan cycle. They have 17 members, each with their own businesses, and they are very close, supportive, and responsible.

One of the group members is Nancy, who works selling jewelry and has been doing so for a while. Her sales strategy is to travel to her customers because she does not sell much in her shop. She travels to several places to sell her jewelry, such as private and public businesses, where she shows them her merchandise and sometimes leaves them on credit and later returns to pick them up. The business is good for her despite the fact that she does not earn much because sales are difficult. She is satisfied since she can work in this business during her free time without neglecting her family.

Nancy is requesting the loan to purchase jewelry because she does not have enough varieties to sell to her customers.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
