Soledad Lazarus Pérez is 65 years of age. She is divorced, only attended school through grade school and already has 2 grandaughters. She is dedicated to the breeding of cattle and hogs, which she began 7 years ago. In addition she is an employee of the public sanitation department in the area. Señora Soledad requests the loan to invest in her cattle, since at her age she wants to give the most attention possible to this business which will be her main source of income in the future.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
