Afisa is 36 years old. She is married and has four children between the ages of 10 and 16. All of her children are enrolled in school. Her husband runs the family’s meat business. Afisa sells charcoal which people use for cooking. She has had this business for 10 years and she says that she is successful because her shop is near well-populated residential areas. With this loan she will purchase more bags of charcoal to sell. With the profit that she makes from her business, she will buy more animals to raise, such as cows and goats, for the family business. The family businesses have been so successful that Afisa and her husband have been able to construct a two-roomed house for their family. In the future, Afisa hopes to get a car to transport the charcoal from rural areas to her workplace.
