Over the years, her business prospered through determination and hard work, and she has been able to build a loyal customer base that has stabilized her business. With good management and savings, Rodrigues has been able to increase her working capital today. She sells at the market located in the eastern area of Kinshasa and her business makes $50 per week. She is confident with her business and she is determined to someday be a second hand clothing importer and provider in DRC in general and Kinshasa in particular. Rodrigues is 35 years old, married, and has three children between the ages 2 and 8. Two of them go to school.

HOPE International has been providing small business loans and savings services to thousands of entrepreneurs in DRC since 2004. HOPE DRC targets small business owners who can use loans to increase their inventories or invest in assets that have the potential to increase their incomes. Funds from Kiva lenders play a major role in expanding access to affordable, flexible capital for micro-entrepreneurs, 80% of whom are women.
