Hard-working R. Simeo has been operating an agro produce sales business in Kyengando village, Ibanda for a period of over 20 years. With nostalgia, this happily married father of four children recalls how his business basked in high profit returns at its onset. Times have changed, however, as the business now is in diminishing returns earning him 200,000 Ugandan shillings in sharp contrast to the previous earnings due seasonal changes.
Simeo is no exception in terms of doing business. What he is looking forward to now is the prospect of enhancing his business by buying fertilizer and improving production of bananas and coffee which he grows the most of. Under the auspices of this loan, he will improve on business expansion and production through mulching the plantations. He hopes to improve his revenue and also make himself more able to meet his day-to-day family necessities.
