María Rosa's story

Señora María Rosa L. is a member of the Señoras de Taguan (Women of Taguan) communal bank. She lives in the community of the same name, which belongs to the Sigsig canton. Her people make their livings making panama hats, raising animals and in agriculture.

Doña María makes her living in agriculture. She grows corn for her own use, and she also raisies animals, likes chickens, pigs and guinea pigs, which she sells in Gualaceo and also uses for her own consumption.

Señora María is 70 years old. She has been a widow for 28 years and has 4 grown children who live independently from her. She has been able to build her own home, thanks to the hard work of her youth.

This is her third loan with her communal bank. She has a great relationship with all the woman who are part of the communal bank. Her loan will be invested in the purchase of chickens and chicken feed.

Her hope is to continue preserving her health.
