This Kiva borrower is a 29-year-old married woman and the mother of one young child. In 2008, she decided to open a clothes store after having her baby, to help her husband with the new expenses. She is thankful for her decision because, with her business income, she is able to support her husband well. And now, she is waiting for her second baby and she is asking for a loan of $1000 from Kiva's partner, Ameen s.a.l., to expand her store’s inventory. She says that the loan will help her diversify her merchandise selection and make more profit for her family. In the future, she is hoping to also sell shoes from her store. Currently, she mostly sells clothes.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
