Las Emprendadoras De La Q Group
In this Group: Gloria Rosario, Rosa Teresa, Karin Carmen, Elisabeth Amparo, Sofia Victoria, Maximino, Altemira

Gloria is 53 years old and lives in the Jose Carlos Mariategui settlement, in the district of San Juan D. Lurigancho. She is the mother of 4 children, all already adults. It has been 6 years since her husband died and Gloria became a widow, and from that moment, all the costs and responsibilities of the house became hers alone.

Gloria sells fish in a market near where she lives. She has done this for 23 years in order to maintain her family, educate her children, and finish building her house.

The group has worked with Edaprospo-Prosperidad since 2009, and this is the 4th loan they have taken out. This is Gloria's first experience as president.

Gloria's dream is to convert her stall into a wholesale and retail distributership and seller of fish of the highest quality and the greatest variety. To do that, the loan will be used to increase her working capital and, in this manner, to satisfy the greatest possible demand.

In the photo, Gloria is standing, wearing a blue sweater and a flowered white blouse.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
