The Kiva borrower is a 24-year-old single woman from Lebanon. She lives with her parents. She is working as an accountant and secretary in a hospital in her town since 2007. In parallel, she is attending university.
Her business is very important because with its income, she is able to satisfy her life needs and help her parents pay for her university fees. As with the majority of Lebanese students, her story illustrates the day-to-day challenges involved in working a job while at the same time pursuing an education.
Today, she is requesting to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to pay for his university education fees. She is studying Accounting and this is her second year. Currently, she will continue working in the hospital to gain the needed experience in this occupation. And in the future, she is planning to start working independently by providing accounting reports to members of her community and some companies.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
