The Kiva borrower is a 41-year old married man with three young children, who are attending school. He is the main income provider for his family. He has twenty years of experience working as a farmer. He has been running his own farm since 1990. He uses plastic tents to grow his products. These tents also allow him to better monitor product quality as well as grow his products for more months during the year. He works independently in his business. And he distributes the vegetables and fruits that he harvests to local markets. Today, he is requesting a loan of $1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase needed supplies for his agricultural work and to improve his business. And he hopes that the loan will help him increase his profits by 15%.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
