Njira is single woman with three children who attend school. She has operated a vegetable stall for 10 years. Previously, Njira worked in a food kiosk. With the kshs. 30,000 loan, she wishes to buy building and construction materials for her vegetable stall. She sells her vegetables to the community around her home and experiences the challenge of transportation and seasonality. She hopes to build a house and be a landlady in the future. Njira owns her home which has neither electricity nor water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
