Penina is a 51-year-old mother of six children, ages 30, 28, 26, 23, 22 and 18. Five of her children are still in school.
Penina operates Sembe Millers. She has eight years of experience in the business. She has two employees. She was previously earning her income from dry cleaning services. Penina registered as a member of Faulu Kenya under a group called Container. She appreciates Faulu Kenya because her businesss has expanded, hence she has been able to educate her children.
She has requested a loan of 75,000 Kes, which she will use to buy maize for milling. She hopes to open another business outlet in five years.
