Kem T., 54, is a widowed farmer who lives with four of her children in the Takeo province. She typically makes US$2 a day and is also supported by three of her children, who are waiters. The weather conditions have been difficult in Cambodia this past year and inflation has also been out of control. These factors have played into a difficult economic year for many Cambodians, Kem T. included. She is asking for a loan of US$1000 to purchase fertilizer for the farm and a motorbike for her children to commute to work.
