Nazim A. dedicated himself to the raising of poultry 15 years ago. He is married and is a father who needs to support his children, who help him with the business. Nazim is faced with the need to purchase more chickens, which are in very high demand. His monthly income is about 250-300 AZN. He has applied for a loan of 1,000 AZN in order to increase his income. He will use this loan to purchase more chickens and improve his living conditions.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
