Meas K. is 41 years of age and is a married woman. In order to meet the needs of the family, Meas K. sells a few food products out of the primary school. She sells items like candy, cake and snack food for kids. She has four years of experience in this sector and is earning approximately $5 per day. She also receives help for producing and selling cakes from her husband.
This couple has been married for years and they have six kids who are teenagers. One of their daughters is employed in the garment factory.
Meas K. will be using the loan she requested to build a medium workshop in front of her home, where she will live and operate her investment.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
