Chheun N. is 30 years old and a resident of Kampong Chhnang Province. She sells various kinds of vegetables that she buys in bulk on credit from suppliers. Chheun N. sells her items in front of her home. In addition, she farms crops on her own farmland next to her house. Her husband sells ice-cream to pupils in school to raise extra money. The couple is married and have two school-age children. Chheun Vavy will use the loan she is requesting to repair her old house that often breaks down.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
