Alejandrina is married and has 3 children. She makes a living preparing ‘papa seca’ [‘dried potatoes’: the potatoes are parboiled, peeled, chopped, and dried in the sun], a product that is used in preparing traditional Peruvian dishes. She sells her products to middlemen who transport them to the Peruvian coast.
Alejandrina is a member of the Milenio Communal Bank. She is requesting a loan of 2500 soles so that she can purchase potatoes. Her dream is to purchase a car that she can rent out and to purchase land where she can build another house for her children.
