Consuelo
Consuelo was born in the city of Urubamba which is about an hour and ten minutes from Cusco. Consuelo currently lives there with her two children. She serves as both mother and father to her children since her partner left her for another woman.

Determined to get on with her life, in 1993, she opened a restaurant selling lunches. Today she sells food from a store in her home. You can find her there 7 days a week from 5 am to 10 pm or until she runs out of bread.

She has been doing this for several years and it has gone well thanks to her effort. Consuelo hopes to borrow 1500 nuevos soles as part of her new loan. She would like to use the loan to buy more goods such as rice, sugar and others.

The Señor de Torrechayoc community bank was founded in 1994 with Consuelo as one of the founding members which has been very good for her. The partners named the community bank Señor de Torrechayoc in honor of the city of Urubamba's patron since they are all religious.

Consuelo nació en la ciudad de Urubamba que se encuentra ubicado a una hora y diez minutos de la ciudad del Cusco. Actualmente, Consuelo vive en la misma ciudad junto con sus hijos. Consuelo es madre y padre para sus hijos, ya que su pareja la abandono por otra mujer. Decidida a continuar su vida, en el año 1993 abrió un restaurante donde vendía almuerzo. Actualmente, Consuelo se dedica a la venta comestibles en su tienda que se encuentra ubicado en su domicilio. La pueden encontrar los 7 días de la semana, desde las 5 de la mañana hasta las 10 de la noche o hasta que se agote el suministro de pan. Ya son varios años que se dedica al negocio y le va muy bien gracias al empeño que pone en su trabajo.

Con su próximo préstamo, Consuelo que espera recibir S/. 1500 nuevos soles. Le gustaría emplear el dinero del préstamo para comprar más mercadería como por ejemplo arroz, azúcar y otras cosas más.

En el año 1994 se abrió el banco comunal “Señor de Torrechayoc”, pero Consuelo es una de las fundadoras del banco comunal y le va muy bien. Los socios pusieron de nombre “Señor de Torrechayoc” a su banco comunal en homenaje al patrón jurado de la ciudad de Urubamba pues todos los socios le tienen fe.
