German
Germán lives in a rental home with his wife and children in the San Martín zone of the city of La Paz. He is married and has 2 children who are of school age. A year ago, he bought an auto which he drives as a taxi every day. With this income, Germán maintains his family. His wife sells CDs and some other things to aid with household expenses.

His previous loans were used to repair his car. Two of these were with Kiva and 8 were with Impro. Germán is pleased with the loans he obtained and now, he wishes to solicit another to buy more products, such as CDs, MP3 musicals, films, etc., to help his wife continue her business.

Given his historical antecedents, Germán qualifies to obtain a new loan, since he is considered a good client.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
