This committee was formed thanks to Sra. Mónica Gómez who is a cosmetics saleswoman in the neighborhood of Las Garzas. She travels by foot around the neighborhood in the mornings and afternoons taking orders from her neighbors. When she learned about the loans for women that were being offered by Fundación Paraguaya, she became interested and started to form a committee with her neighbors. Today the loans have been a great help to her and to the rest of her group. They work constantly and conduct periodic meetings at the home of Sra. Mónica Gómez who is an active hardworking woman.

Sra. Mónica is requesting a loan to buy perfumes, make-up, crèmes, and other products. All of the members are women who want to continue making progress through their efforts. They thank Fundación Paraguaya for helping them with their work so that they can press forward along with their children.

About Fundación Paraguaya

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
