Florence is widowed with ten children and all her children go to school. She also takes care of her brother’s children. She resides in and owns four-roomed house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses includes food and school fees.
Florence owns a bar in Kyebando Nsooba selling all types of drinks like beer, soda and local gin and has been in this business for over twenty years. She works from her home and sells both retail and wholesale to all categories of people, working seven days a week.
Florence buys her crates of beer, soda and local gin from delivery vans and so doesn’t incur any transport costs because she buys from her home. Her business challenges are the rainy season and defaulters.
Florence is aspiring to see her business grow big and to start selling wholesale only. She decided to work with MCDT SACCO because of the low interest rate charged.
