Mrs. Sam Ann L., age 62, is the village bank president, having been selected by its ten members who all live in Ta Hing village in Kandal province. All members of this village group will use their portions of the loan to support their different businesses.

Mrs. Sam Ann L. and her husband, Mr. Vong Chum, are farmers who own 2-hectares of land to cultivate rice and vegetables. They work very hard to support their family. Aside from farming, Mrs. Sam Ann L. also sells vegetables at the local market and is able to earn a small income to improve her family's life. Mrs. Sam Ann L. will use the loan she requested from AMK to buy more vegetables to sell. This couple has four children: two are construction workers and two are laborers.
