Abdul
Abdul is 32 years old and married with a child. He started his business five years ago, and has been with SMT since 2004. Abdul’s business has expanded since then with small and subsequent loans from SMT. He sells soft drinks and beer, both wholesale and retail. With the profits, Abdul was able to purchase a refrigerator and a small generator. Moving to the 7th loan cycle, he is requesting a larger loan to expand the business further. Abdul would like to purchase chairs and tables for customers to sit on while enjoying their cold drinks.

About Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT)

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is Kiva’s oldest field partner in Sierra Leone. SMT began operations in 2002 as a microcredit program of the NGO Child Fund Sierra Leone under a USAID program to assist the reintegration of ex combatants back into their communities.
