This group is called 'CRISTALES' because the treasurer's daughter is called Cristal, and the group elected this name in honour of her. CRISTALES is located in the Morelos state and is made up of 13 members.

Señora María occupies the post of group President. She is 24 years old and married. María studied until secondary school and now works selling Mexican snacks.

Señora Doris Arlen J. T., known to her friends as Doris, is 20 years old and lives with her partner. She used to work in a tortilla shop didn't earn enough so she began selling cosmetics. There came a moment when Doris realised that the earnings from her cosmetic sales were better than her salary as an employee, so she decided to leave her job and dedicate 100% of her time to selling cosmetics. This job also lets her attend to her family, as she has a 2 year old son. Doris's objective is to have a better quality of life.

She is diversifying her business path and is beginning to sell tupperware, without neglecting her cosmetic sales. These have allowed her to move forward.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
