Maha Dawaseh is a 26-year-old mother of three daughters and two sons. Her husband, Jamal, owns an electronics store where he sells new and used appliances, such as refrigerators, recorders, and microwaves. Maha's husband started the business four years ago with very little capital. The business is prospering, so Maha and her husband decided to improve the store and make a few changes.
Maha took a $1,500 loan so her husband could use it to change a few things in the store, like display equipment, wall painting, etc.
In the photograph, Jamal stands in front of the electronics that he sells, because Maha comes from a conservative background.
