Meang S., 41, is a widow who lives in Takeo province with her two children. She makes about US$3.50 daily, weaving silk clothes and growing vegetables. One of her child is employed as a construction worker, making US$2. She is asking for a loan of US$700 to purchase more silk to weave more clothes. She is also hoping to purchase a pig, to raise and sell, with the money from the loan. She sees this loan as a great opportunity to expand her business and she is confident that she will see her income increase as a result.
