The community bank Unidas was formed by 9 women who fight day by day to better their economic situation and to improve the quality of life for their families. The majority of the members live in the Nonodel sector, some 30 minutes outside the city of Cuenca. They conduct their meetings in the countryside because their homes are not very accessible by car.

Miss Laura B. lives in Deleg canton. This is her first loan that she has used. She was invited by her aunt and now belongs to the community bank. She works cultivating the earth as a farm laborer. She is very young, only 19 years of age, is single and lives at the home of her sister sharing the expenses. Her loan will be invested in the purchase of livestock to start her own business. Her goal is to own her own home.

Ms Hilda B. lives in Deleg canton, is 26 years old, and is married with 4 children who are 10, 7, 5, and 2 years of age. Her first 3 children are going to the local school. Her husband works as a farm laborer. The do not have their own home, so they are renting. This member is also working as a farm laborer. She works every day Monday to Saturday, but she also takes time to care for the animals that she raises – guinea pigs and chickens. She sells them when she has economic need. This is her first loan that she is getting from the community bank. It will be invested to pay the down payment on some land that she is acquiring. Her dream is to own her own home.

El banco comunal Unidas somos más está formado por 9 mujeres quienes luchan día a día para mejora su situacion económica y así mejorar la calidad de vida de sus familias. La mayor parte de las socias viven por el sector Nonodel a unos 30 minutos fuera de la ciudad de Cuenca, realizan sus reuniones en el campo abierto debido a que a sus hogares no es muy accesible que ingrese algún vehiculo.

La Señorita Laura B. vive en el cantón Deleg, es su primer crédito que realiza, fue invitada por su tía que ya pertenece al banco comunal, se dedica a cultivar la tierra trabajando como jornalera.
Nuestra socia es muy joven ya que tiene apenas 19 años de edad es soltera y vive en casa de su hermana compartiendo los gastos, su crédito lo va a invertir en ganado para empezar con este negocio, su meta es tener casa propia.

La Señora Hilda B. vive en el cantón Deleg, tiene 26 años, es casada y tiene 4 hijos quienes se encuentran de 10, 7, 5, 2 años de edad, sus tres primeros hijos estan estudiando en una escuela de la localidad, su esposo trabaja labrando la tierra como jornalero, no tienen casa propia por lo que viven arrendando.

Nuestra socia también se dedica al trabajo del campo como jornalera, labora todos los días de lunes a sábado, pero también se da tiempo para cuidar a sus animales ya que cría cuyes y pollos, los vende cuando tiene alguna necesidad económica, es el primer crédito que realiza en el banco comunal y lo va a invertir para pagar la cuota inicial de un terreno que está adquiriendo, su sueño es tener casa propia.
