Basem, who appears in the photograph, is a 21-year-old young man from Tulkarem. Basem's family members have been farmers for a long time. Basem had to leave school and join his father in working and taking care of the family. Two of Basem's brothers are government employees and they help with the family's expenses.
Basem, who is regretting leaving school, is engaged now and needs a $2,400 loan to cover some of the wedding expenses. Basem decided that he will take another loan after repaying the current one so he can resume his education. He believes that education will help him get a good job and, in addition to working on the farm with his father, will improve his financial situation.
