Cristobal Colon (Flat) Group
In this Group: Teresa , Dora Luz, Miguel Angel , Salvador
This Group is Cristóbal Colón (Christopher Columbus) because one of the members suggested the name and the rest liked it because it’s the name of someone famous. The group is made up of two women and two men who are determined to struggle to get ahead and when one member of the group needs help they will be able to count on the others always. They live in the community of Chalco in the State of México.

The group representative is Teresa Córdoba S., 45 (in the blue blouse). She’s a widow and has two children who are in preschool and middle school. She has been a preschool teacher for the last 18 years. She enjoys teaching children and gets much satisfaction in being able to help others.

Sometimes it’s difficult for her to meet her household expenses as well as pay for the education of her children. Even so, she does not give up and struggles every day so that her family will have the basics.

She’d like to take advantage of the current school vacation period to expand the kindergarten a bit and buy furniture because she hopes that the children will have a space that is better suited for their development. Her future plans are to open another institution so that more children can study.

The other group members are: Dora Luz P. Gutiérrez (To parchase teaching aids), Miguel Ángel Córdoba S. (To buy assorted clothing) and Salvador García Pérez (To buy fabric and thread).

They are grateful for the support they get from Kiva through Fundación Realidad because they can meet their goals and continue to make progress.
