Geofrey is a 37-year-old married man. He is blessed with three children: twins aged 12 and a 5-year-old. To earn a living, he sells maize and potatoes in an open-air market. He has been running the business for three years and has seen the business grow since he joined Faulu Kenya, a Kiva partner.
He appreciates Faulu Kenya for previously giving him a loan of 40,000 Kenyan shillings (KES), which he used to boost the business. Currently, he has five employees who help him in the day-to-day running of the business. He is requesting a loan of 80,000 KES to purchase 20 sacks of maize.
Geofrey hopes to supply maize in schools in his local community. This way, he will get more income for investing in another business.
