Augustina describes herself as a persevering and hardworking woman. She has been operating her retail food business for the past two years, specializing in rice and stew. She sells meals such as these to day-laborers and individuals in her neighborhood.
Currently, Augustina operates her business from a kiosk on the side of the road. She is excited to be taking out this loan so that she can purchase cooking materials that will help her meet her customers’ demand: bags of rice, cooking oil, tomatoes and seasonings. She dreams of generating enough profits to support the education of her children.
In addition to being a vibrant entrepreneur, Augustina, 49, is also married to a commercial driver and together they have seven children ranging in age from 15 to 28 years.
