Getrude is a single woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She rents a house with no electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are hospital bills and school fees.
Getrude operates a business buying and supplying maize and tobacco to the entire market. She has been supplying her products wholesale for the last seven years. She normally supplies all her products to local customers and to retailers in the market.
Getrude decided to work with Yehu so as to access loans to improve her business. With the Kshs 50,000 loan, she wants to purchase five sacks of tobacco, green vegetables, fruits, one sack of dried maize and green maize. She hopes to build her own business shop and become a big supplier in future.
