This Kiva borrower is a 48-year-old single woman who lives alone. She runs a tailoring business from her home. She has been involved in this occupation since 2000 and offers all types of tailoring and sewing services to her customers. She works hard to meet her living expenses.
This is her second loan, and she tells us that she found that the first loan amount was appropriate given her business needs and repayment ability. Over the course of her loan term, she consistently paid on time, and she even repaid the full loan amount earlier than her scheduled end date.
Today, she is hoping to borrow $1,500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. in order to purchase much-needed tailoring supplies. In the future, she would like to expand her client base, and she hopes eventually to open a small tailoring factory.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes of this entrepreneur may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
