Esther
Esther is one of the many active clients of Juhudi Kilimo and a dedicated member of Chemitan Integrated group. She is 52 years old and married, with 3 children aged 12, 15 and 25. All the children attend school.

Esther is a farmer from Litein town in Rift Valley, Kenya. She has been farming for 10 years and employs one farmhand. Her products are maize and milk which she sells to the local market. She also owns and earns income from her rental houses in the same area.

Her primary challenge has been lack of good quality bull semen which in most cases is very expensive to access.

Esther has requested her third loan from Juhudi of KES 50000 to purchase a dairy cow. This loan will help increase the family’s' income through the sale of milk and improve the family’s living standards and ease the burden of paying school fees.

In future, she would like to improve the quality of her dairy animals and increase her rental houses. Esther suggests Juhudi should assist farmers find good breeds of dairy animals and educate farmers on the best ways to keep a productive cow.
