K. Pierrette was born on June 29, 1974 and is married to AGUINDE Gilbert, a tailor. The couple have five children, all enrolled in school, of whom three still depend on their parents. For seven years, Pierrette has been living in the Djeffa neighborhood, in the township of Sèmè-Podji, with her children and her husband. The couple share the task of supporting their family.
Pierrette only attended primary school. For five years, she has been selling used clothing in Dantokpa, the international market of Bénin. This business brings in income that allows her to support herself and the children. She buys her goods in the Missèbo market in Cotonou. It is the first time that Pierrette is requesting a loan from ALIDé, in order to increase her working capital and expand her business.

Cette activité lui procure des revenus l’aidant à faire face à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants. Pierrette s’approvisionne au marché de Missèbo à Cotonou. C’est la première fois que Pierrette sollicite un concours financier de ALIDé, afin de renforcer son capital et d’agrandir son activité.
Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.
Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
