Rose G. was born on 23 August 1980, and is married to Côme KOUNTE, a professional driver. The couple have three children who are all attending school. The family settled in the Bazounkpa neighborhood of Cotonou (the economic capital of Benin) approximately 5 years ago. Rose helps her husband and together, they cover the economic needs of their family. Rose only attended primary school. For the last four years, she has been selling cosmetic and hair products from her home. As a second source of income, she also sells a variety of products (liquors, couscous, soaps, sardines, vegetable oil, mayonnaise, toilet paper, sugar, rice, etc) from her home. The revenue from this activity allows Rose to live her life. She purchases her products from Dantokpa, the international market in Benin, as well as from Lomé, in Togo. Rose previously received a loan from ALIDé, and re-paid the loan on time. She is asking for a second loan in order to enlarge her store and attract more customers in order to make more profits.

G. Rose est née le 23 Août 1980 et est mariée à KOUNTE Côme, un chauffeur. Le couple a trois enfants qui sont tous scolarisés. Il y a environs cinq ans que la famille s’est installée au quartier Bazounkpa à Cotonou, capitale économique du Bénin. Rose vient en aide à son mari et assure avec lui les différentes charges de la famille. Rose n’a fréquenté que l’école primaire. Depuis près de quatre ans, Rose mène comme activité, la vente de produits cométiques et de mèches à son domicile. De façon secondaire, Rose exerce comme activité la vente de divers produits (liqueurs, couscous, savons, conserves de sardine, huile végétale, mayonnaise, papier hygiénique, sucre, riz, etc.) dans sa boutique à son domicile. Cette activité génère à Rose des revenus l’aidant à gagner sa vie. Rose achète ses produits à Dantokpa, marché international du Bénin, et aussi à Lomé au Togo. Rose a déjà bénéficié d’un crédit auprès de ALIDé, et a bien effectué les remboursements. Rose désire agrandir sa boutique et accroître sa clientèle, pour se faire plus de profits ; raison pour laquelle Rose sollicite un deuxième prêt.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
